Session 17:
ENERGY AND SUPERCONDUCTIVITY
Energy, attracting an increasing awareness of the importance of conserving valuable natural resources, faces efficiency challenges in the 21st century to meet demand affordably, sustainably and securely. Rather than from the consumption of conventional mineral fuels, such as coal, oil, gas and nuclear, energy drawn from renewable energy systems is also expected to show promise of becoming practical. Superconductivity, the novel technology that revolutionized power generation, transmission and storage through the application of superconductors, is one of the most promising enablers of energy efficiency.
This session is intended to inspire the world experts in superconductivity to present their latest results to solve energy efficiency issues, exchange information, extend network and plan the future breakthroughs. This session is also a connection between academia and industry to broaden the spectrum of applications of superconductivity in its reach and potential.
