Prof. Ken Reifsnider, Director of The HeteroFoaM Center, University of South Carolina, lead the study of heterogeneous functional materials that is changing the way the world consumes resources by making scientific advances that enable the creation of new clean energy technologies (video).

CIC Energigune is the new energy research centre with headquarters in the Basque Country which aims to become an international benchmark in its field. The centre has the backing of public institutions and administrations, and of companies directly related to the energy sector (video).
Prof. Teófilo Rojo, Principal Scientific Director on Power Storage, Batteries and Supercaps of CIC Energigune joined the symposium. He is the Keynote Speaker of Session 04: beyond lithium ion battery.
