Welcome to North Sea Conference & Journal!

Founded in 2013 and located in Aberdeen, Europe’s Energy Capital, North Sea Conference & Journal offers a unique approach to academic exchange in the fields of Energy and Mechanics.

Since then, we have held 7 international conferences and published 4 volumes of the Journal of Energy Challenges and Mechanics, edited by world-renowned engineering researchers.

Our mission statement is to facilitate a productive exchange of knowledge between academia, industry, and research societies who seek solutions to address challenges mankind is facing.

To this end, we have committed ourselves to establishing a level playing field for researchers regardless of their country of origin, institutional affiliation or seniority. In doing so, our conferences present a distinctive opportunity for students and other emerging researchers to exchange ideas with senior experts in their field. To hear more about this, you can listen to a selection of Interviews with past speakers and past events.

Upcoming conferences in 2018 are:

Our commitment to equal opportunities and accessibility means that we keep registration costs and all other fees as low as possible. For this reason, we cannot offer any discounts, as this would cause us to operate at a loss. The only exception is for delegates who also carry out administrative or other tasks for the conference, as those discounts are recuperated in labour cost savings.

Besides such delegates, we are also looking to employ 8 helpers for our upcoming conferences. Applicants must be based in or near Liverpool. If you are interested in applying, please contact us at info@nscj.co.uk

Global impacts

A diverse range of countries are represented at our conferences, which maximises our global impact. 56 different countries were represented at the 7th International Symposium on Energy held in 2017. The top 10 countries by number of delegates were China, the UK, South Korea, the US, Germany, Japan, India, Austria, Kuwait and Poland, and these still accounted for fewer than half of the delegates.

Below is the National Distribution of Delegates for the Sixth International Symposium on Energy Challenges and Mechanics we organised in 2016, with 46 countries and regions represented.and Mechanics we organised in 2016.
